But which types of coffee preparation are particularly popular?
Preparing coffee with the hand filter
The preparation of coffee with a hand filter is a classic that has been experiencing a kind of renaissance for several years.
After all, this method of preparation is not only particularly simple, but also makes for particularly delicious coffee.
Twelve grams of ground coffee is enough for a cup filled with 200 milliliters. Alternatively, a heaping tablespoon is also a good measuring option. The coffee grind should be about as fine as table salt. When handling the paper filter, it is important to first break off the edge and then place it in the hand filter.
Rinse the filter before use
Before use, connoisseurs rinse the filter area with hot water. This removes the paper taste and raises the filter to a comfortable temperature.
Then a little water is poured over the coffee. As a general rule, pour in about twice as much water as coffee and let the coffee drink rise. It then proved helpful to add the remaining water in a circular motion and prolong the brewing process for up to three months.
Preparation with fully automatic machine
More and more coffee drinkers today are enjoying the benefits of a fully automatic machine. In the test of the small fully automatic coffee machine it turns out that hardly any preparation is as fast and convenient as with this device. However, a variable taste experience as well as tedious cleaning and maintenance reduce the use of fully automatic machines.

If the machine is divided into two bean compartments, it has proven useful to fill the coffee in one compartment and the espresso in the other. If there is only one compartment, users must choose between a softer coffee roast and a stronger espresso roast.
Tips for the correct setting
Setting coffee machines correctly takes a bit of practice and a bit of patience. With the right coffee for fully automatic machines, the amount of coffee, the amount of water and the degree of grinding have a decisive effect on the development of taste.
In general, the degree of grinding should correspond to the intermediate setting. The higher the amount of water, the more bitter the finished coffee. Also, most coffee drinkers prefer a stronger flavor setting.
Preparation with the filter coffee machine
The functionality of the filter coffee machine is roughly comparable to that of the hand filter. However, drip coffee machine users do not pour the water over the coffee by hand. Instead, the machine allows for a steady, gentle flow of water.

But this reputation is unwarranted, as the machine actually produces good coffee.
Tips for using the filter coffee machine
The coffee grind should also be about as fine as table salt, but slightly coarser than with the hand filter. However, using a total of 12 grams of coffee per 200 milliliters of water is also a good starting point. For the use of filter coffee machines, 125 milliliter cups are usually specified.

Preparation with the French press
The name of the French press is no accident. As early as the 18th century, the coffee-making machine came into use 18th century. With this method, a metal sieve slips into the role of the filter by pressing water mixed with coffee powder.
However, since no filter paper is used when using a French press, a relatively large amount of coffee oils and coffee fats are transferred to the finished coffee.
As a result, the drink usually tastes a bit fuller and more intense.
Details on the use of the French press
Since a total steeping time of four and a half minutes is recommended for a French press, ground coffee should be ground quite coarsely. The right order of magnitude is a particle size roughly comparable to a semolina. A finer ground coffee produces a more bitter taste.
When using the coffee machine, it has proven useful to coarsely grind around 60 grams of coffee per one liter of water and then rinse with hot water. This mixture is poured into the carafe and then about 150 millimeters of water are poured over it. Ideally, the water reaches a temperature of 92 to 93 degrees Celsius.
After boiling, it is advisable to cool the water a little. After a maceration time of about 30 seconds, the mixture macerates for another four minutes. After this time, connoisseurs again skim the coffee powder and foam layer with a large spoon over the surface. The French press is also well suited for the preparation of large quantities of hot drinks.
Preparation with the Aero Press
The Aero Press is a relatively modern form of preparation that combines the advantages of filter coffee and French Press. With a duration of up to 1.5 minutes, the coffee infuses a little longer than with a hand filter and is then pressed through filter paper using a pad.
Unlike the French Press, however, the Aero Press filters out a lot of coffee oils and coffee fats.
The result is a clear and fine coffee, which crystallizes the particularities of the respective coffee particularly strongly.

The Aero Press is easy to use. It is advisable to grind the coffee a little coarser than filter coffee, put about 15 grams of coffee powder in the machine and leave to stand for about a minute after stirring. If the coffee is mixed again and pressed through the filter, the coffee is already ready.
Preparation with a pot
In Italian households in particular, it is common to prepare coffee in a classic style using a saucepan on the stove.
Intense and strong coffee creations are created in the stovetop pots. One of the best known manufacturers is Bialetti.
